  • 2 Cans of Pinto Beans
  • 1 Tbsp. of Olive Oil
  • 6 Strips of Bacon
  • 1 Jalapeno Diced
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion Diced

Instructions

  • During the first step in how to make Frijoles Borrachos, you should prepare the vegetables and bacon on different cutting boards. This is important so you don't accidentally cross-contaminate raw meat (bacon) with fresh vegetables (onions and jalapeno).
  • In this second step on how to make Frijoles Borrachos, you should cook the bacon in olive oil and let it simmer. The bacon should crisp up. In the pan, sauté the bacon for about five minutes, flipping with the spoon frequently. The stovetop should be set to a medium-high.
  • With the cut-up vegetables, add them to the pan with the bacon. You should continue sautéing the bacon with the onions and jalapenos to brown them. Try not to burn them! Lower the heat to a medium-low during this step.
  • In step four on how to make Frijoles Borrachos, you should add the cans of beans as well as the rest of the ingredients. Let it simmer on low heat for 15-20 more minutes. You should stir frequently so that the flavors mix well together. The beans should soak the flavors surrounding them in the pan.
