Equipment

  • 2 measuring cups
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Bowl
  • blender

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups of Frozen Mangos. If you have the time and ripe mangos you can also buy them fresh and instead peel the mango and take the pit or seed out. Cut into thin slices and measure out to approximately three cups, which is usually equivalent to 3-4 mangos.
  • 4 oz of Mango Syrup. For lower sugar there are mango juice and nectar options. These tend to be thicker though and can change the consistency of the mango Chamoy drink.
  • 4 tbsp of lime or lemon juice. Like the other ingredients if you prefer to use freshly squeezed lemons or limes, you can do that too! However, it may take more then 4 limes to get a full four tablespoons of the liquid.
  • Chamoy
  • Tamarind Candy
  • 2 Cups of Ice
  • red hot chili pepper seasoning

Instructions

  • The first step in this Mango Chamoy Drink Recipe is to prepare the ingredients. You will need chopping or cutting board and a knife to properly cut the mango, lime, and other ingredients. Set everything to the side.
  • After you have everything prepared and ready for blending and processing, you will add the fruit, lime juice, and ice to the blender. Blend until it is smooth. This may take up to 3 minutes if you are using frozen mangos instead of raw mangos.
  • Next, you will need to add the seasonings to the mix and blend. Make sure that you do not accidentally add the Chamoy or tamarind candy to the blender just yet! Blending Chamoy can change the mango flavor significantly.
  • This is my favorite part! After the drink is blended in this Mango Chamoy Drink Recipe, you will need to pour the mixture into a glass about 1/4th of the way. Then, add chamoy and tamarind candy in between layers. Continue to repeat this. You will get swirls of colors! It is okay if it is not even.
  • Once the drink is done and poured into the cup, decorate the glass! Using sugar water, sprinkle tamarind candy and chili pepper like Tajin to the rim of the glass. This is optional but does make the delicious drink look even more

Notes

  • Although I have broken down this Mango Chamoy Drink Recipe into five steps, it is simple enough to complete in less than ten minutes! One tip or trick I have for you is to keep it simple! Although it is nice to use fresh and raw fruits, frozen mangos and lime juice is still as delicious!
  • However, if you have time and extra mango slices or cubes, you can use this in the blender as well. Actually, there is a way to make this Mango Chamoy Drink Recipe last for months. If this is a drink you really enjoy, I recommend making the drink in advance, however, don't pour the mango mixture into a glass.
  • Instead, pour the mixture into a popsicle container or a plastic bag. This way, when you want to drink it in the future, you will only need to grab the bag or popsicles from the freezer.
