Ingredients

  • 2 blocks cream cheese softened
  • 2 ripe avocados halved and pitted
  • 1 large jalapeño halved, seeds optional for extra heat
  • 1 cup sour cream or Mexican crema
  • Juice of 3 limes
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules or salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro leaves roughly chopped (reserve some for garnish)
  • Tortilla chips or vegetables for serving

Method

Combine All Ingredients
  1. In a food processor or blender, combine softened cream cheese, avocado flesh, jalapeño, sour cream or crema, lime juice, bouillon or salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and most of the cilantro—reserving a bit for garnish.
Blend Until Smooth
  1. Blend on medium-high speed for 15–30 seconds until completely smooth and creamy, scraping the sides once or twice to ensure thorough mixing.
Adjust to Taste
  1. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed—add more lime juice for brightness, salt or bouillon for savory depth, or extra jalapeño if you'd like more heat.
Serve Fresh
  1. Transfer to a bowl and top with reserved cilantro. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or alongside your favorite dishes.
