Step 1: Brown the Beef
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion.
- Season with salt, pepper, taco seasoning, and garlic powder.
- Stir until well combined and the beef is fully cooked.
Step 2: Add the Rice and Liquids
- Stir in the beef broth, tomato sauce, drained corn, salsa, and white rice.
- Mix thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.
- Cover the skillet and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
Step 3: Melt the Cheese
- Once the rice is fully cooked, sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover the skillet again and let the cheese melt for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
